Died peacefully at Menorah Park in Beachwood, OH on November 17, 2022 at the age of 78. Charles was a leader of Social Justice and equality for African Americans in Education and Philanthropy. Dr. Taylor was the youngest President of Wilberforce University at 32 years old and later president of Morris Brown College. Dr. Taylor was President of Shaker Heights Board of Education concluding in 1989. Dr. Taylor was on the Board of Trustees at the University of Akron and worked in Executive Search for numerous years. A well respected educator and dedicated family man. Charles is survived by his daughter Enid T. (Anastacio Tito) Vázquez of Cleveland Heights, OH; son's Dr. Jerome (Alicia) Taylor, MD. of Bronx, New York and Antjuan Taylor of Dayton, OH; grand-children Anastacio Tito, III and Cheyenne Elizabeth; Jesiah and Aliya. He is survived by his sister Charlene Rahaman and brother's George (Deborah) Taylor and Anthony (Victoria) Taylor of Columbus, OH; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Karen Elizabeth Keyes Taylor, his parents Robert and Catherine Taylor, sisters Barbara Banks, Clarice Redman and brother Nelson Taylor. A private memorial service will be held at a later date in 2023.
