Walter Charles Jones, age 77, departed this life on March 20, 2026. Walter was born on March 14, 1949, in Humboldt, Tennessee, to the late Mable Hudson Jones Wikes and the late Worcester Bullock, and primarily resided in Bedford Heights, Ohio. He lived a life marked by strength, dedication, and a deep love for his family and the simple joys that brought him peace.
Walter retired as a metallurgist from Joy Mining Machinery, where he spent many years contributing his skill, knowledge, and commitment to his work. After retirement, he found happiness riding his Harley motorcycle. The open road brought him peace and reflected his independent spirit and love of life.
Walter also had a deep love for music. He especially enjoyed blues and jazz, and listening to live bands, including favorites like Smokey Robinson, B.B. King, the Gap Band, the Beatles, ZZ Hill, Otis Redding, and the group The Project. Walter could share facts about nearly any blues artist and enjoyed talking music with anyone who would listen.
Most importantly, Walter was a believer in Jesus Christ, and his faith gave him strength, a kind heart towards everyone, and hope throughout his life.
Walter leaves to cherish his memory his son, James Clinton Jones (Keyona) of Bedford Heights, Ohio; his beloved granddaughters, Aurora A. Jones and Mariah-London Jones of Maple Heights, Ohio; his sisters, Mable Renee Jones of Milan, Tennessee, and Glenda Sue Williams (Wendell) of Milan, Tennessee; and his late brothers George T. Hudson and late Clinton “Clay” Jones.
His former late wife, Frances Walton Jones. Nieces and nephews, Cortney-Michelle Curry, Keaton Donald(Sarah), Rachel Ferguson(Cornelius), Clinton Terrell Jones of Rockford, Illinois, Kelia Turner(Adrian), Stephon Milan, and a host of cousins and great nieces and nephews; and all of his biker brothers and sisters, who held a special place in his life.
Walter will be remembered for his steady presence, quiet strength, love of music, and the joy he found on the open road. Though he will be deeply missed, we find comfort in knowing his faith carried him home. His spirit rides on in the love he leaves behind.
